Malahide Parish

I have been appointed to St. Sylvester’s Parish, Malahide since Sept 2017.    http://malahideparish.ie/blog/

I have been involved in the local school  particularly in regard to Second class and First Holy Communion preparation and 6th  class who are preparing for Confirmation.   Ive also had two sessions with each of the 3rd classes in the church prayer room – we have had some interesting conversations about the miracles and parables of Jesus and about Advent and the Jesse Tree.   The Jesse Tree session sparked lots of questions about Old Testament figures – I was really challenged to remember the OT stories about  Abraham, Jacob, Joseph  and King David, and make them  interesting and relevant!

I have also been very involved in the Christmas Eucharist celebrations both on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day – very busy but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I noticed that I did not post anything really, following my appointment to Marino parish two years ago!  I hope  to start again now and keep the blog up to date from Malahide!
